The Hon’ble Chairman Sri Chalama Reddy Sir is an academic luminary and an able administrator who has been rendering his commendable services in the sphere of education for over three decades. Having post-graduated in both Mathematics and Education, he initially served as an ace faculty in Mathematics at Narayana Junior College for five years. With the aim of imparting quality education at the higher level, he was enthused to initiate Sphoorthy Degree & PG College at Dilsukhnagar, Hyderabad, in 1993. Within no time, he steered a couple of colleges of education in Hyderabad and an engineering college near Khammam. Taking a cue from the success emanated from the former initiatives, he established Sphoorthy Engineering College under the auspices of Thoma Educational Society, in 2004. His pragmatic approach and persistent efforts in maintaining quality standards have brought the institution to its pinnacle.

Chairman’s Message

Continuing to set the standards for qualitative technical education for future generations, our institution takes pride in nurturing socially responsible leaders with an entrepreneurial mindset that broadens their knowhow in emerging technologies, and, in turn, transforms them into world-class technocrats. Since discipline and decorum has been a buzzword, the institution advocates effective teamwork, collaborative problem-solving traits and a sense of purpose combined with unyielding passion that would, altogether, foster down-to-earth personalities of tomorrow. It always keeps us on our toes when it comes to keeping up our promises made to the parents that the lives of their wards be transformed into self-sufficient personalities, by the time they exit this institution. All that could be made possible, through the years, by dint of immaculate efforts of the placement faculty who constantly put their heads together for securing 100% placements. I opine that the students should endeavor to realize the dreams of their parents, with an overall sense of responsibility towards the society and the nation, at large. I would appreciate the parents who confine their wards to use the mobile phones for the very basic purpose. It is also imperative on the part of the parents to act upon drug abuse and rash driving which jeopardize the students’ lives, drastically.

Shri Jaganmohan Reddy Sir, as the Hon’ble Secretary of the institution, cherishes in setting new benchmarks in technical education sector for a paradigm shift to emerging technologies. Driven by his commitment to provide quality technical education and to infuse novel ideas in scaling the zenith of excellence, he has put forward indefatigable efforts since the inception of the institution. He always dreamt of ensuring the students become job-providers rather than job-seekers. A versatile academic genius with several post-graduate qualifications like M.Sc., M.Tech., a police officer at the age of 21 and a serious aspirant for Indian Civil Services, has turned out to be the chief architect of the institution.

Besides being a true academician and an administrator, he also zeroed in on physical fitness coupled with emotional well-being. He also believes in the maxim “Success comes to those who work hard and stays with those who don’t rest on the accolades of the past”.

I feel ecstatic for being a part of this august entity which continues to strive for the holistic development of the students in multiple technical domains by instilling confidence through skill-based learning and career-oriented guidance that transforms their professional trajectory. Driven by the obsession to set a benchmark in technical education, we have been endeavoring to provide with the world-class opportunities to our students for accomplishing their dreams.

I ardently believe in setting audacious goals and emulating the best practices by providing apt platforms for internships, initiating industry-expert mentoring, enriching research-intuitive framework, facilitating value-addition courses, entering into MoUs and focusing on FDPs, which altogether, help in the emergence of student community that matches the ever-changing industry requirements, perse.

As a part of ensuring emotional and physical well-being and all-rounded personality development of students, the institution provides unstinted support. Inculcating humanitarian values like compassion, humility, integrity, social responsibility and commitment towards the nation-building among the students has been an unwavering commitment to the institute’s vision and mission.

I urge the students to focus on self-learning methods as a tool to enrich themselves and also to be equipped with one or more foreign languages in addition to English so as to make oneself globally competent.

Groomed under the able guidance and motivation of a very successful duo – Honourable chairman Shri Chalama Reddy and Honourable Secretary Shri Jaganmohan Reddy, Shri S. Holydhar Reddy has proved himself in scaling the new heights of his career and becoming the Chief Executive Officer of this august institution, at a very young age. Born in 1995, he completed schooling at Ooty. He completed his B.Com (Computers) from Sphoorthy Degree College and obtained Masters Degree in Management Studies from a well-reputed business school – Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), Shameerpet, Hyderabad.

As the CEO, he has been playing a pivotal role by executing the growth and strategy plan of the organisation on a regular basis, with a view to garner feedback from the departments in order to strengthen academic activities and administration and by setting targets for transforming teachers into facilitators. He has been very instrumental in boosting the morale of the department of Trainings and Placements which helped the students in amassing lucrative packages. Being an agile athlete, he took special interest in the game of football and several other sports that paved the way in the reinforcement of sports facilities in the institution.

His broad understanding in the need for a more customized approach to the execution of emerging technologies in the institution and setting essential targets like experiential and immersive learning that brings technical competence among the students to meet ever-changing industry requirements.

Chief Executive Officer`s Message

Keeping pace with the ever-rising trends in IT industry, the institution puts relentless efforts in mentoring and guiding our techno-savvy students made into not just corporate employees but jubilant entrepreneurs too. As an individual and in the capacity of CEO of this institution, I always discourage brain-drain and advocate a principle of working for one’s own Motherland and thereby growing along with it.

My focal point is on devising and executing various strategies which are aimed at the holistic growth of the students from the time they enroll themselves into first year of B.Tech till the time they exit the institution; by ensuring that all the necessary inputs are imparted, as per planning and on a time-bound basis.

I fervently preach and practice certain significant traits like consistency, commitment, perseverance, punctuality, professional etiquette, dietary discipline, financial frugality, physical fitness and psychological resilience that are essential for panoramic growth of an engineering graduate, in particular, and any human being, in general.

It is imperative on the part of the students to cultivate out-of-box thinking and to make use of it in becoming entrepreneurs who are supposed to possess the ability and desire to establish, administer and succeed in startup ventures. Entrepreneurship is a hub of innovation which generates abundant employment opportunities, which in turn, would be instrumental in community development in the form of increased standard of living. By and large, I always set my heart on visualizing engineering graduates as not just employees and but inspirational employers. It’s not as easy-peasy as it might sound; but one has to put forward indefatigable efforts in order to emerge in flying colours in the more competitive global marketplace.

Furthermore, I foresee the Sphoorthians to be trying their fortunes in other top-notch positions besides accomplishing their long-cherished dreams and attainable goals like becoming sports icons and other highly esteemed paradigms.
